Reviewing the top 100 MLM companies, you’ll find 68 who rake in $100 million dollars or more per year in revenue. These 68 companies all have a ton in common, yet each one is unique enough to transcend the title of start up to established company. Let’s face it, no matter what a company does; earning $100 million dollars in revenue annually is a serious accomplishment.

Most of these 68 companies have been around for a while. Amway, Avon, Mary Kay, etc. are all well known brands and have earned solid reputations. These reputations were earned over time and lots of it. In order for a company to go from being a “celebrity” in their industry to a known brand by those who do not patronize it, takes PR, exposure, good press and time. There are very few companies that can reach $100 million dollars in sales in less than a decade.

Southern Living at Home is one of those companies.

Southern Living at Home Review

Before the turn of the last century, a gentleman farmer from North Carolina began publishing Progressive Farmer, a small agricultural magazine with the mission to improve the livelihood of farm families throughout the South. The magazine was virtually unknown for decades but to a select group of devoted readers.

Southern Living came to life in the early 1960s and embraced the warmth of friendship in a gracious home environment. As any student of culture and sociology recognizes, the yearn for nostalgia is a tremendous force. Even in the movies, re-releasing memories from our past is big business. Hits like Spiderman and Charlie’s Angels targets an audience who hasn’t left the scene, they simply grew up and become more affluent. In recent years, thousands of readers have called in to ask how they can find many of the beautiful products they see in the pages of Southern Living. Many of these readers recognize the warmth, beauty and nostalgia of what Southern Living represents.

In response to those inquiries, a party plan company, Southern Living At HOME, was created in January 2001. Dedicated to the same values and principles upon which the magazine was founded, Southern Living At HOME brings the pages of the magazine to life. The company also serves as a way for Southern Living to invite valued readers to share in its success. It stands committed to help entrepreneurs realize the dream of owning their own business and achieving personal and financial freedom.

While most MLM companies are born from a unique idea or a breakthrough product, Southern Living at Home was born from the hearts of the readers of a magazine…Brilliant!

Normally, if a company has such hyper growth of $100 million dollars in sales in less than 10 years, it has the potential to collapse under mis-management or becomes a target for fierce competition or absorption by a new technology.

Southern Living will most likely stand the test of time because the magazine has been around for decades. This built in loyal readership is a tremendous pool of prospects for an MLM recruiter. Moreover, when your product is a feeling and heart-felt emotion, entrenched by years of quality, it is difficult for a competitor to knock you out.
